Photos or videos have not been copied

Easy Phone Sync can transfer the following from an iPhone backup to a Samsung Galaxy device:
  • Photos taken using the iPhone camera
  • Video recorded on the iPhone
  • Video podcasts from iTunes

However, Easy Phone Sync is not able to transfer the following:
  • Copy protected video purchased from the iTunes Store
  • Photos which were transferred to the iPhone from a PC or Mac

Transferred photos should be visible in the gallery application on the Galaxy device. It may take a few minutes after the synchronization is complete for all of the transferred videos and photos to be displayed.

Messages, contacts or calendar entries are not updated

It can take some time for all of the data to be updated after the sync is complete. Easy Phone Sync updates the contacts first, then the messages and finally the calendar. This process starts after the Galaxy device is disconnected from the PC or Mac.

You can check if Easy Phone Sync is processing messages, contacts, etc. by pulling down the notification bar on the Galaxy device (the thin bar at the top of the screen displaying the time and battery status). A progress message will be displayed if Easy Phone Sync is active.

Note that Easy Phone Sync cannot transfer content backed up to iCloud. If you have been backing up to iCloud it is necessary to create an iPhone backup on your PC or Mac in order to transfer the data using Easy Phone Sync.

If none of the above apply then restart your phone. This will force Easy Phone Sync to start processing any copied data.

USB Settings

In order for Easy Phone Sync to work correctly the Galaxy device must be set to "Media Device" Mode. This can be done as follows:

1) Connect your S3 to your Mac using a USB cable
2) Touch the notification bar on your phone (the thin bar at the top of the screen containing the time, battery indicator, etc.)
3) Pull the notification bar down to the bottom of the screen
4) Select the “Connected as Media Device” or “Connected as Camera” option
5) Select the “Media Device (MTP)” option (if this is not already selected)
6) Return to the home screen on your phone
7) Disconnect the phone from the Mac
8) Run Easy Phone Sync again

It is also recommended that USB Debugging is switched off. This can be done as follows:

1) Open the Settings app
2) Select "Developer Options"
3) Ensure that the USB Debugging option is NOT selected
